Services Requiring Separate Confirmation
The following services are not included within standard furniture assembly and must be confirmed in advance where available:
- Wall mounting, anchoring, drilling, or fixing into walls, ceilings, floors, tiles, or stone.
- Electrical connections, lighting installation, plumbing, gas work, or appliance installation.
- Custom carpentry, cutting, modification, resizing, or alteration of furniture or property finishes.
- Repair of damaged products, missing components, or furniture not designed for safe assembly.
- Dismantling, relocation, disposal, or removal of existing furniture.
- Assembly of third-party or customer-supplied furniture not included in the confirmed order.
- Packaging removal, debris disposal, or specialist cleaning unless specifically included.
Wall-Fixing Safety
Some tall or top-heavy furniture may require wall anchoring to help reduce the risk of tip-over. The need for fixing, the appropriate installation method, and responsibility for wall fixing should be confirmed before work begins.
Before the Assembly Appointment
Preparing the room protects your time, your property, and your furniture.
- Confirm that the product and assembly service shown on your order are correct.
- Clear a working area larger than the assembled furniture so components can be unpacked safely.
- Remove fragile items, rugs, dΓ©cor, cables, and other obstacles from the work area.
- Ensure the final furniture location will not block doors, windows, vents, sockets, or walkways.
- Protect delicate flooring or nearby finishes if special precautions are required.
- Arrange building permissions, parking, loading access, or contractor approval where necessary.
- Keep children and pets away from tools, fittings, packaging, and the assembly area.
- Ensure an authorised adult is present to provide access, approve placement, and review the completed work.
- Inform Qdot Living in advance about restricted access, unusual fixing surfaces, sloping floors, or other site conditions that may affect assembly.
Prepare the Final Position
Whenever possible, decide where the completed furniture will be placed before assembly begins. Large items may not be easy or safe to move once fully assembled.
During Assembly and Handover
- Show the team the prepared area and confirm the intended furniture position.
- Allow enough uninterrupted space for the team to organise components and work safely.
- Do not request alterations or substitutions that differ from the approved product instructions.
- During handover, review the furniture's visible condition, alignment, doors, drawers, shelves, and supplied accessories where applicable.
- Raise any concerns before the team leaves and contact Qdot Living promptly if additional review is required.
Important Assembly Information
Service Scope
The assembly service provided with your purchase is the service confirmed in your quotation, checkout summary, or order confirmation. Product-specific instructions and site conditions may affect what can be completed during the appointment.
Assembly Charges
Assembly charges, where applicable, depend on the furniture type, complexity, quantity, location, access, service timing, and any specialist installation requirements. The applicable charge will be confirmed before scheduling or with your order.
Safe Working Conditions
Assembly can proceed only where the work area is clear, adequately lit, and reasonably safe. Work may be paused or declined if unsafe conditions, insufficient space, unstable surfaces, or unapproved installation requirements are identified.
Complete and Suitable Components
Assembly depends on the correct product, instructions, and compatible hardware being available. Missing, damaged, incorrect, or unsuitable parts may delay completion and require replacement components or another appointment.
Wall and Property Conditions
Standard furniture assembly does not automatically include drilling or structural fixing. Where fixing services are available, customers must disclose concealed utilities or property restrictions and ensure the installation surface is suitable.
Customer-Supplied Furniture
Assembly of furniture purchased from third parties is not included unless Qdot Living confirms the item, instructions, condition, components, and service charges in advance.
Changes and Rescheduling
If you need to change your appointment, contact Qdot Living as early as possible. Availability, notice requirements, and any additional charges depend on the agreed service conditions.
Post-Assembly Movement
Dragging or relocating assembled furniture may affect its alignment, fittings, and stability. Confirm the final position before handover and use appropriate assistance if the furniture needs to be moved later.
